The Jong Nong is a plucked instrument made of bamboo. To play the instrument, the player places it in his mouth cavity using his own cheek as the sound box. In the Central Region this instrument is called Jong Nong, while in other regions it is called Hun, Heun, Goi (หุน หึน หืน โกย). In the Lower Northeastern Region it is called Ang-gui (อังกุยจ์).
The Jong Nong is made of a small piece of bamboo, about 12-15 centimeters long and 1-2 centimeters wide. It is grooved in the middle to act as a wooden reed. One end of the bamboo is for holding and the other end is for plucking. The different sounds are produced when the player widens or narrows his cheek.
